The partners in CORE Organic will form a network in order to continue the cooperation and to monitor the progress of the CORE pilot projects.
At the last meeting of the CORE Organic project in Vienna in September, 2007 the CORE Organic Governing Board decided to continue the collaboration of the partners in a CORE Organic Funding Body Network with the main objectives:
- To monitor and evaluate the CORE Pilot Projects, which are running until 2010
- To deepen and broaden the collaboration between the CORE Organic partners and to include funding bodies from other countries, which are interested in research programmes for organic farming and food systems in the future activities
The CORE Organic Funding Body Network held its first meeting on 23 November 2007 in Copenhagen. All former partners of CORE Organic were represented and it was unanimously agreed, that Morten Lautrup-Larsen from the Directorate for Food, Fisheries and Agri Business (DFFE), former chairman of the CORE Organic Governing Board should continue as Chairman of the CORE Organic Funding Body Network. The Danish Research Centre for Organic Food and Farming (DARCOF) which was the coordinator of the CORE Organic FP6 ERA-net project will function as secretariat and the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE), Germany will function as deputy secretariat of the network. A cooperation agreement for the future collaboration has already been agreed and a Strategy paper for the future work is being discussed.
